Questioning Introductions

Introductions can be such awkward things. The excitement of meeting someone new coupled with the anxiety of disappointing them. Unlike partings there is no “sweet sorrow” in a greeting, it is either a moment performed perfunctorily or hesitantly, both parties eager to move beyond “hellos” toward the more rewarding and meatier activities of discussion and debate.

That being the case I’ll make this introduction as brief as possible, considering that the sidebar describes why Fictive Funk exists this post might be superfluous. But, all things must have a beginning, this is Fictive Funk‘s. I needed a place to explore my own creativity, to explore the theater that is the written word, a place to play with light and color, a place where it was okay to take risks and try new, or old, things. I needed a place to stretch myself, and my art.

Fictive Funk is that place. Please, come in!

Nice poem, shapely, felt. I wrote a poem not long ago and now I can’t find it. Most of my poems are lost. Looks like you have a home for yours as a spiritual journal you can both reference and share.
